Kaneko’s Beauty

We grew this magnificent cattleya orchid that received an Award of Merit one of the top American Orchid Society awards. For achieving this, we named the orchid “Kaneko’s Beauty”, after Kaneko Ikeda, the wife of Dr. Daisaku Ikeda, whom I have studied for decades. Without the guidance and direction gleaned from Dr. Ikeda’s writings, I would not be the person I am today by any stretch of one’s imagination..

At the time that the award was issued, I wrote a poem after the orchid’s name.
